Emmaus Evening
Prayer and Potluck Dinner
Saturday, February 8 at St. James of the Valley
Our monthly "Emmaus Evening" is an opportunity to be with Christ together, like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and to build our community on this foundation. Our evening will begin at 6:00pm with Eucharistic Adoration in the church. Food may be brought to the cafeteria a little earlier. We will conclude our time of prayer with Vespers and Benediction. Afterwards, we will move into the cafeteria for a potluck meal and time to be in community. Water and lemonade will be provided, but you may bring your own adult beverages and/or kids’ drinks. If you’re able to bring food, please consider bringing a recommended item in order to have a good balance (by last name): A-H: side dish, I-R: dessert, S-Z: main dish. Hope to see you there! This event is open to everybody. Please extend the invitation.
Rite of Entrance to the Catechumenate
At the 9:00am Mass at Our Lady of the Valley on Sunday, February 9 we will welcome new inquirers into the catechumenate. Over the coming months, they will prepare for their initiation into the Christian faith by baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist. Please keep all those preparing for the sacraments in your prayers.
