Soup & Parish Family Overview
Saturday, October 25
Join us on October 25 for a Soup Meal and Parish Family Overview from Fr. McCullough at 6pm in the Our Lady of the Valley cafeteria. The gym will be open for older children, and there will be a toddler zone in the back of the cafe. The evening will begin with Mass at 4pm at OLV followed by a half hour of Adoration and Vespers. The parish will be supplying bread, drinks and paper goods. We hope that you can share a delicious crockpot of soup or dessert, possibly a family favorite!
During the Parish Family Overview, Fr. will be addressing several topics such as long-term planning and the financial reports. This evening has been planned to share communication regarding our Queen of Apostle Family. The agenda for the evening will stick to the above topics listed, to get through the material planned, and respect everyone’s time. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to help the evening progress in a timely manner.

Dinner and Presentation
October 19
All are invited to Our Lady of the Valley cafeteria on October 19 for dinner and speaker presentations on ministry with the Navajo people from St. Mary Mission in Tohatchi, NM. Speakers will include Sr. Marlene Kochert, OSF, and Br. Maynard Shurley. Navajo prayer will be offered by Marianne Woody, Laverne Buffalo and Pearl Bautista. Social hour from 5-6pm followed by dinner and presentations beginning at 6:45pm and ending at 7:30pm.

Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance will be placed in each church somewhere near the altar during this month of October. Please write the names of the deceased family and friends who have gone to be with our Lord this past year.

November 21 at St. Clare Convent at 7pm.

Andrew Dinner:
For Young Men Discerning Priesthood
The Queen of Apostles will be hosting an Andrew Dinner at Our Lady of the Valley Wednesday, October 22 from 5:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria. The Andrew Dinners offer high school-aged men and college-aged men a chance to share a meal with the director of vocations while learning about discernment, seminary life and the priesthood. St. James of the Valley Needs Your Help
As shown in the Stewardship Report, published in the September 28 bulletin, St James Parish ran a $100,000 deficit in the year ending June 30, 2025. To help close the budget gap, we are looking for help in the following areas:
1. Invite your friends to Church – We need to increase our outreach to the community, consistent with our mission.
2. Prayerfully consider how you might be able to significantly increase your level of giving. While every little bit helps, we need a significant increase in the level of donations (in the range of 20%.
3. Volunteer to replace contract services as follows:
• Clean the Church and School on a rotating basis starting January 2026 – We would hope to get enough volunteers to establish weekly rotation teams to clean the Church and School. If we can get enough volunteers, this might be a one week per month commitment.
• Spring/Summer/Fall Grounds Maintenance – We are looking for volunteers to help with grounds maintenance (grass, weeding, mulching, trimming) beginning March 2026.
