Soup & Parish Family Overview this Weekend
Saturday, October 25
Join us this Saturday, October 25 for a Soup Meal and Parish Family Overview from Fr. McCullough at 6pm in the Our Lady of the Valley cafeteria. The gym will be open for older children, and there will be a toddler zone in the back of the cafe. The evening will begin with Mass at 4pm at OLV followed by a half hour of Adoration and Vespers. The parish will be supplying bread, drinks and paper goods. We hope that you can share a delicious crockpot of soup or dessert, possibly a family favorite!
During the Parish Family Overview, Fr. will be addressing several topics such as long-term planning and the financial reports. This evening has been planned to share communication regarding our Queen of Apostle Family. The agenda for the evening will stick to the above topics listed, to get through the material planned, and respect everyone’s time. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to help the evening progress in a timely manner.

Fr. Nathan Women's Retreat Faith and Fortitude

Join us on Saturday, November 8, 2025 8am- 4pm for a retreat on how faith strengthens spiritual resilience and encourages women to trust in God. The retreat will take place at St. James of the Valley, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Ohio, 45215.

Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance will be placed in each church somewhere near the altar during this month of October. Please write the names of the deceased family and friends who have gone to be with our Lord this past year.

This year the Mass of Remembrance will be on Friday,
November 21 at St. Clare Convent at 7pm.

Day of Prayer and Healing After Abortion
November 15
Have you or someone you know suffered from the loss of a child to abortion? We invite any woman who has experienced this loss to join us for a one-day retreat in the Cincinnati Area on Saturday November 15. This event offers women a safe and confidential space to share their experience, reflect on their past, and offer their future to Christ who makes all things new. A trained priest, counselor, and post abortive volunteer will be present to accompany participants along the journey of healing. Exact location and event details will be shared after completing the registration process.

St. James of the Valley Needs Your Help
As shown in the Stewardship Report, published in the September 28 bulletin, St James Parish ran a $100,000 deficit in the year ending June 30, 2025. To help close the budget gap, we are looking for help in the following areas:
1. Invite your friends to Church – We need to increase our outreach to the community, consistent with our mission.
2. Prayerfully consider how you might be able to significantly increase your level of giving. While every little bit helps, we need a significant increase in the level of donations (in the range of 20%.
3. Volunteer to replace contract services as follows:
• Clean the Church and School on a rotating basis starting January 2026 – We would hope to get enough volunteers to establish weekly rotation teams to clean the Church and School. If we can get enough volunteers, this might be a one week per month commitment.
• Spring/Summer/Fall Grounds Maintenance – We are looking for volunteers to help with grounds maintenance (grass, weeding, mulching, trimming) beginning March 2026.

Behold • Young Adults

St. Mary Hyde Park
Behold is a time set apart to encounter Jesus Christ alongside other young adults in your community. Eucharistic Adoration begins at 7 PM, followed by the proclamation of the Gospel and a homily by one of our seminarian deacons. Let yourself rest in the presence of the Lord in the candlelit sanctuary, join in song and worship with the seminarian schola, bring your intentions to the prayer teams, and be healed by the loving mercy of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
In keeping with our All Hallow’s Eve theme, after Adoration, change into a saint costume to enter our costume contest and join us for a social in the parish hall! We’ll have music, snacks, cocktails, and other beverages for you to enjoy. This is a great opportunity to hang out, make new friends, and connect with local young adult groups and apostolates.
