Seven counties in Ohio, including Hamilton County, have seen a rising number of COVID-19 cases in the last few weeks, and the state now classifies these seven counties as Level 3 public health emergencies. The Governor of Ohio has decided masks must be worn inside all non-residence buildings in these counties until further notice.
Previous orders from the state of Ohio provided exemptions for religious services, but this most recent order, as it is currently interpreted, does not have an exemption for religious services. Previous guidance from the Archdiocese strongly recommended the use of masks, but after consultation with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati on this most recent order it has been determined that Mass attendees at all parishes in the Archdiocese are now required to wear masks.
Attendees at all Masses in the WWPR will need to wear a mask while in church starting tomorrow (Thursday, July 9th) and going forward until the state's order is revised to exempt religious services or is cancelled by the state.
Thank you for your understanding during this extended public health crisis.
